Jonas Raam's work is a subjective story writing in pictures. He is based on the irrational and contradictory image flow of our time. From sources such as the Internet, newspapers, books and his own photographs, he generates imagery that touches on topics such as sociality and culture, power, politics, psychology and symbolism. By selecting images from these different media and taking them out of their context, and then putting them into a different context, he constructs a new content. The selection does not follow any fixed form or thematic categorisation. The material is presented in visual structures without directly relating to one particular story or sequence. The intention is to tell as complex a story as possible both at the external and internal level, in order to achieve a detailed network of different associations with the viewer.
