The Charlottenborg Foundation is looking for two interns for the autumn - a communications intern and an exhibition intern. For both positions, we are looking for interns for a study-related internship starting in September/October 2022. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at noon.
The Charlottenborg Foundation organises the annual Spring Exhibition at Kunsthal Charlottenborg and has has been an important exhibition platform and springboard for contemporary emerging artists in the fields of art, architecture, design and crafts. The exhibition is complemented by a range of activities including artist talks, performances, film screenings and guided tours. The internships require an insight and interest in contemporary art and culture, and as an intern you will work alongside the Foundation's Executive Director. Read more below.
COMMUNICATIONS INTERN
As a communications intern, you will get to know:
- Setting up online newsletters
- Updating social media
- Updating the website
- Producing press releases, news and articles
- Press monitoring
- Ad hoc communication tasks
What does it require of you?
You are in higher education, preferably in the field of communication, and the internship is part of the programme. It is an advantage if you have an interest in and knowledge of contemporary art, but it is not a prerequisite.
You must be interested in writing and articulate in both English and Danish. You have a good understanding of grammar, are sharp at proofreading and are a super user of the Office suite. In addition, you must be an experienced user of social media, especially Facebook and Instagram. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of image processing in Photoshop and also like InDesign, and you have the courage to throw yourself at a lot of new and diverse tasks.
The Communications Internship is versatile and you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of communications tasks. As an intern, you will be proactive, structured, service-minded and motivated by a daily routine with many changing projects and varying deadlines.
EXHIBITION INTERN
For our exhibition department we are looking for a skilled and versatile colleague who will mainly deal with tasks in the following areas:
- Planning
- Exhibition production
- Realisation of exhibitions and events
- Dissemination, communication, app
- Administration
What does it require of you?
We imagine that you are currently pursuing a higher education in the field of arts and culture (e.g. art history, visual culture, modern culture). The internship is planned to last approximately one semester and is organised according to the guidelines for a credit-bearing internship set out by the university. You should have an interest in and preferably knowledge of contemporary art, and it is an advantage if you have experience in producing exhibitions or events.
The position of exhibition intern is very versatile and you will be working on several different sub-projects, usually at the same time. We are therefore looking for an enterprising person who can work independently, conscientiously and in a structured manner. You have a cool overview and are not afraid to also roll up your sleeves and help us with the many ad hoc tasks that are also part of everyday life in the art gallery. You are also a good communicator, both written and oral, and have a good command of Danish as well as English.

Number of hours: approx. 20-30 hours / 4 days per week, but of course we take into account the intern's study commitments, e.g. projects and exams and possibly a student job
