Press release: Charlottenborg Foundation receives record number of applications for Spring Exhibition 2022

This year, 832 applicants have applied to be admitted to charlottenborg spring exhibition 2022.

The count was made after the official Open Call ended at the application deadline the night of today, at midnight on December 19, 2021. Thus, the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition 2022 will be the exhibition in registered time that has received the highest number of applicants.

"Considering that the entire cultural life was shut down today and last year's exhibition was strongly challenged by shutdowns, we are pleasantly surprised and grateful for the trust that so many artists show us by sending an application to the Spring Exhibition 2022." John Kørner, chairman of the Charlottenborg Foundation's Board of Directors.

The connection points to a continued relevance as a debut exhibition, which in recent times counts both Klara Lilja, Sif Itona Westerberg and Frederik Næblerød among his debutantes.

Three censorship rounds lie ahead before the jury can announce which artists will be finally admitted to Charlottenborg Spring 2022 and thus be exhibited at Kunsthal Charlottenborg from 6 February to 13 March 2022. The selected artists are also in the competition to win the Solo Prize in collaboration with Politikens Forhal, the Deep Forest Art Land Prize and the Talent Prize.
