JURY 2018

The works at Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition 2018 have been selected by a jury consisting of: Klara Kristalova (artist, CZ/SE), Alexander Tovborg (artist, DK), Anders Ruhwald (artist, DK/US), Christina Capetillo (architect, DK) and Marie Nipper (curator, DK).

Curator
Marie Nipper is artistic director at the Tate in Liverpool and a former superintendent of ARoS Aarhus Art Museum. She has curated a large number of international exhibitions and served as a consultant on major and minor decorating tasks for both public and private institutions. She is also a co-owner of the art book publisher Roulette Russe.
CHRISTINA CAPETILLO

CHRISTINA CAPETILLO

Architect
Christina Capetillo is educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture (1995), where she teaches and has taken a PhD from (2010). Her artistic work spans architecture, photography and landscape art. In 2015, she received the Eckersberg medal and the Danish Arts Foundation's 3-year work grant.

Artist
Anders Ruhwald graduated from the Royal College of Art, London in 2005 and is a resident of Detroit, USA. He has had over 30 solo exhibitions and 100 group exhibitions in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States include 'The Hand is the Mind is the Bomb that Blows', Moran Bondaroff Gallery, L.A., USA (2017), 'Unit 1: 3585 Dubois St', MOCA Cleveland, USA (2016) and 'You in Between', MIMA, Middlesbrough, UK (2008). In 2007 he received the Sotherby's prize in London and the Gold Prize during the Icheon International Ceramics Biennale in South Korea (2011). Anders Ruhwald's works are represented in more than 20 international collections including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Denver Art Museum and the National Museum, Stockholm. Ruhwald is represented by Moran Bondaroff Gallery, Los Angeles and Volume Gallery, Chicago.
ALEXANDER TOVBORG

ALEXANDER TOVBORG

Artist
Visual artist Alexander Tovborg's practice revolves around mythological themes and religious issues that are actualized in a simultaneous context. Tovborg also finds inspiration in art history. The work production spans several media that count painting, sculpture and performance.
KLARA KRISTALOVA

KLARA KRISTALOVA

Artist
Czech-born Swedish artist Klara Kristalova works mainly with drawing on paper and in ceramics. She performs both public decorations as well as exhibitions, most recently at Gl. Strand in Copenhagen (spring 2017) and at Galerie Perrotin in Paris (autumn 2017). Klara Kristalova is a member of the Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, has previously been a member of the Board of Directors of the Swedish Arts Council, and has over the years taught as a guest teacher at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Malmö, Umeå, Stockholm Bergen and Oslo.
