Ana Mendes, 'My Father Has a Gun', 2020

On March 18, 8 p.m., the video work 'My Father Has a Gun' is screened by Ana Mendes.

'My Father Has a Gun' is a video based on photos from artist Ana Mende's family album. It tells the story of Mendes' father as a young soldier during the Portuguese Colonial War in Guine-Bissau, while speculating about the role of photography in our understanding of war. The work is available for 72 hours.
